Obituary for David W. Boike

David Wayne Boike of Murfreesboro, TN died April 13, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
David served 6 years in the National Guard. He was employed for many years by Firestone as a tire builder in Akron, OH before relocating to Leesburg, FL and becoming self-employed. While in Akron, David was a member of successful bowling leagues where he won several awards for perfect games. David was a resident of Murfreesboro for the past 17 years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, working in his yard and tending his vegetable garden. David was also an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in the Murfreesboro VA golf scramble twice weekly.
David was preceeded in death by his parents, Helen and Louis Boike. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kay Blasingame-Boike of Murfreesboro, TN, devoted daughter Beth Ann Boike Freestone and her husband Fred of Newark, DE, brother and sister in law Dick and Phyllis Boike of Akron, OH , nephews Jeffrey Boike (Mary Lynn) of Mundelein, IL , Brad Boike (Ellen) of Houston, TX, Shawn Boike of Cleveland, OH, Chance Cooke (Deserae Laczniak) of San Diego, CA, nieces Erin Blasingame Greenfield (Adam) of Walker Lake, NV, Paxton Cooke of Murfreesboro, TN, and sister in law Beth Blasingame (Steve Vires) of Murfreesboro, TN.
The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in David’s memory. The family wishes to thank Alive Hospice for their care and support.
